Stumbled upon this apparent rerelease of old 4-track demos from Tennessee’s Thirsting Quench entitled Everything Is Glued To Everything: Worst of the 4-tracky! Years (1997-2002)
It’s impossible for me to ignore a selection of recordings w/ a name like that. If the time period mentioned in the title of this record is accurate, Thirsting Quench finds itself near the top of the pile of before-their-time lo-fi artists. This unbelievable collection of demos is of a vain of trashy cassette-fi music that I hold extremely dear to my heart. The compositions remind me of Ariel Pink or the noisier soundscapes of Big Audio Dynamite. Imagine Brian Wilson moving to Memphis on a whim, changing his name, and making recordings to document years and years of prolonged DMT usage.
