  1. 05 HORQUILLAS - THE FEAR.mp3 by DRACULA HORSE Horquillas put out their 5 song self-titled EP yesterday, making yet another awesome addition to Knoxville’s Dracula Horse label. There are a lot of electronic, processed jams coming out these days, but bands like  Horquillas and Dirty Virgins are looking to save us from the beats and bring us back to the dirtier rock jams of years past. I love “The Fear”. The music really reminds me of Bryan Jonestown Massacre in the sense that there is really mature melodic and lyrical writing in a lo-fi context. The EP is pay-what-you-want on their bandcamp, so my suggestion to you is stream it online until you have your credit/debit card laying around and then punch in the numbers and give them a few dollars. Think of it like you heard the record and then went out and bought one of the dudes/ladies in the band a beer or two. It’s just courtesy. Also, don’t forget to pre-order/donate to the Vinyl Release of one of the best records of the last year.
